Upcoming Retreats

We offer long weekends at Stillpoint House of Prayer (Springtown, ON), where full lodging is provided. Our retreats are adapted to the needs of people with developmental disabilities and their friends and family members. We use a set of visuals, music and accessible language throughout the event, for an inclusive experience.

You may ask: what is a retreat exactly? It is a concentrated time of introspection, a combination of time spent in solitude and in community of those who are present. It is a time away from the business of everyday life, a time to rest and renew.

LENT 2024

What's wrong? What's next?

From March 7 to 10, 2024, we propose a retreat, at Stillpoint again, exploring these questions: What's wrong? What's next? This retreat will use the text of the Upper Room, as well, inviting the wisdom of Saint John of the Cross: The Dark Night of the Soul. All are welcome to join and explore with the aid of music, visuals and creative journaling prompts.

Location: Stillpoint Retreat Center

Date: March 7-10, 2024

Upcoming Workshops

We offer three workshops which are different in content from the specialized retreats offered at Stillpoint. While the subject of our workshops is similar to the retreats you see listed above, workshops consist of two-hour sessions, which may repeat on a weekly basis, or may consist of a single session.

This year, we dive deep into mindfulness (October 2), understanding, true self and false self (Advent Wednesdays) and the dark night of the soul (Lent Wednesdays). We recommend our workshops for any member of the general public.

Our workshops are offered in collaboration with the Upper Room in Ottawa.
